Dr Loh has brought more than 25 years of practical experience in plant science, biotechnology and management to LINK (THM) SCIENCES. He was one of the early pioneering bio-entrepreneurs in Singapore who successfully established the commercial application of biological and molecular techniques to plant and crop improvements in the agro-based industries in the ASEAN region. Between 2008 and 2013, he was appointed President Commissioner/Non-Executive Chairman and held various senior executive positions in several public-listed entities as well as private companies in Singapore and overseas. In 2016, appointed Board Adviser for Strategy at Fund Singapore Pte Ltd (Capital Market Services licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore). In 2017, Dr Loh is appointed Chairman, Special Advisory Group of Murdoch University in Singapore.

Dr Loh received his doctoral (PhD) research training in plant virology and tissue culture technology at one of the world’s oldest and renowned R&D Centres -Rothamsted Experimental Station, The Institute of Arable Crops Research in the United Kingdom. He is a Chartered Horticulturist (C Hort) of The Chartered Institute of Horticulture in the United Kingdom.  He is a Member of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of Nanyang Polytechnic in Singapore and a Member of the Industry Advisory Panel at the School of Biosciences and Visiting Professor with the School of Medicine at Taylor’s University in Malaysia. He also served as Advisor and Co-Principal Investigator at the Centre for Cancer Research and the International Collaborative Partner Global Network in the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) in Malaysia. He was an Agri-Advisor for 9 years to the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA), Ministry of National Development, Singapore. In 2015, he received the highest science honor- the Honorary Doctorate of Science (HonDSc) from Murdoch University, Western Australia in recognition of his exceptional contributions to science, academia and agribusiness in the region. Dr Loh is appointed Mentor of the Development Bank of Singapore (DBS) Innovation Group Hotspot in 2016.

He is a Member of the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science & Technology and a Certified Practicing Agriculturist (CPAg) of Australia and New Zealand. Together with his team of qualified researchers, he has successfully filed several biotechnological and plant-related Patents in the USA, UK, Canada, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore. One of the inventions was peer-reviewed and published in the Scientific Reports of the world-respected Nature.com in March 2012. Dr Loh is also trained and qualified in Clinical Hypnotherapy and a Certified Member of the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association (IMDHA) in Laceyville, Pennsylvania, USA.

In recognition of his leadership to the community, he was conferred the Public Service Medal (Pingkat Bakti Masyarakat) in 2001 and the Public Service Star (Bintang Bakti Masyarakat) in 2006 by His Excellency, The President of the Republic of Singapore.
